Morning with Costa

On 16th of November, MiCare sponsored a “Morning with Costa” which focused on environmental sustainability and spirituality of gardening. The event was open to 741 Retirement Village residents and local community with approximately 50 people in attendance.

Our Chief Financial Officer, Graeme Wickenden, and Petra Neeleman, MiCare’s Executive Director, and the Amicum sales team were on hand to welcome residents and guests.

The ever-enthusiastic and captivating Costa Georgiadis, host of Gardening Australia, spoke about a variety of issues impacting on our efforts toward environmental sustainability and how each and every one of us can do our part in preserving our earth. Some initiatives include a shift towards using greener products, education, efficient and efficient waste management and encouraging the younger generation to adopt habits that conserve natural resources.

During the presentation a variety of plant species that were suited to balcony and courtyard gardens were showcased. The audience were acquainted with the Plant Finder smartphone application – a valuable resource to all gardeners, and had the opportunity to ask questions, quiz Costa on plant species, discuss gardening ideas, explore and investigate solutions for lack of floor space.

Delighted guests were treated to light refreshments and it was great to have everyone interacting with Costa and amongst themselves. Every guest was given a potted plant (or two) as a token thank you gift for their attendance and participation.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Costa for his very engaging presentation and a big thank you to the residents of 741 Retirement Village and guests who shared their stories and ideas.

We look forward to the next event at 741.
